THE Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport will host several youth camps in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), beginning Monday.
Senior Youth and Sports Officer in the Region, Mr. Darshand Persaud said the annual day camping will be at Kabakaburi Primary School, from July 12 to 17; Tapakuma Primary School from July 20 to 24; Capoey Amerindian Mission from July 27 to 31 and Sparta Primary School from August 3 to 7.
He said campers will be trained in life skills programmes, civic education, moral and guidance, health and safety, HIV/AIDS, Art and Craft, Music, Drama, Dance, sports and games and the importance of attending school regularly.
According to him each camp will accommodate 60 youths, with the Government providing free lunches and snacks to those in attendance.
Persaud said certificates will be presented to all who participate at the end of every camp.
