Guyana Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS hosts 2010 Awards/Gala Dinner

– Partners with Ministry of Labour to honour awardees
THE Guyana Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS will host its 2010 Awards for Business Excellence and Dinner on Saturday June 25, 2010 at 7:30 pm in the Savannah Suite of the Pegasus Hotel.

According to  a Press Release from the Organisation, the Awards for Business Excellence is a truly significant event for the GBCHA, as it is an unparalleled opportunity for that Body to publicly recognize the unique and vital contributions the awardees have made in the fight against HIV and AIDS in Guyana.
Launched in May of 2008, the Guyana Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS (GBCHA) is a rapidly expanding alliance of private sector companies dedicated to combating the HIV/AIDS epidemic through the unique skills, expertise and contributions of members of the private sector.
The release stated that the GBCHA has enjoyed a healthy and progressive existence due to the support of USAID and member companies that are working towards the unified goal of reducing the spread and impact of HIV and the associated stigma and discrimination in the workplaces and general community.
The winners of the 2010 Awards for Business Excellence are:

2010 Winner of the Award for Business Excellence – Workplace Programme

Honourable Mention – Workplace Programme: Grace Kennedy Remittance Services Ltd. (Guyana)

Honourable Mention – Workplace Programme: Guyana Power and Light

National Milling Company
2010 Winner of the Award for Business Excellence – Outstanding Performance by Peer Educators

Honourable Mention – Outstanding Performance by Peer Educators: Edward B. Beharry & Co. Ltd.

Scotiabank Guyana
2010 Winner of the Award for Business Excellence – Community Investment
The GBCHA release stated that the Organisation is honoured to have the collaboration and support of the Ministry of Labour in its initiative.  The Ministry will also present the MLHSSS-LOSH Awards at the GBCHA Awards for Business Excellence event.

The Awards/Gala Dinner event would be the culmination of the Pan Caribbean Business Coalition’s two-day Forum, scheduled to be hosted by the GBCHA at the Guyana Pegasus Hotel on June 24th-25th.

The evening’s celebration will also include a cocktail hour between 18:30 hrs and 19:30 hrs, a lively Dutch Auction, and soulful serenades by two of Guyana’s finest artistes.
