DEMERARA Bank Limited has made a donation of stationery and
games to the students of the Hinterland Scholarship Students’ Dormitory at Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara.
Sixty-eight students received a set of Oxford dictionaries, pens, geometry sets, calculators and games such as snakes and ladder, chess and scrabble.
On hand to receive the donation was senior social worker Rosamund Daly who expressed appreciation for the useful gifts on Monday afternoon.
On behalf of the Ministry of Indigenous People’s Affairs, she expressed heartfelt thanks to the Board of Directors of Demerara Bank Ltd for the timely donation, and assured that it will be well utilised.
Meanwhile, Demerara Bank Ltd. Branch Manager Deyon D’Oliveira said that it was a pleasure to make the donation to the students in observance of Amerindian Heritage Month and Education Month.
He added that they thought it wise to make the presentation to foster education in Guyana and growth within the community.
Two students, a male and a female, also made brief remarks expressing their gratitude to Demerara Bank.
