Ruling today on smaller trial in other murder case

JUSTICE Roxanne George-Wiltshire is expected to rule today on the voir dire (trial within a trial) that was conducted in the murder case of Khemraj Bhoodhoo. The smaller trial followed a submission by Senior Counsel Bernard De Santos that the constitutional right of the accused, to a fair trial within a reasonable time, had been breached.
State Prosecutor Latchmie Rahamat replied to that argument yesterday before the judge reserved decision.
Bhoodhoo alias ‘Sham’ and ‘Shaw’ is indicted for the July 5, 2005, unlawful killing of Lilendra Roopnarine called ‘Boyo’
