A nation united and working co-operatively together will enjoy lasting economic prosperity. Fragmented by historical and generational ethnic bitterness, Guyana – a land blessed with vast natural resources – is forced to move at a snail’s pace on the road to full economic prosperity. And from my perspective, this is not the fault of the PPP/Civic government. Longing to work with all race groups, the government is forced to go it alone. Opposition forces refuse even to consider making the greater interest of national unity and the long term economic prosperity for all Guyanese the main plank of their agenda. Instead, removal of the PPP/Civic government from power has been hailed the cornerstone of their developmental policies.
When will these “intelligent” men and women who aspire to national leadership face reality? The nation of Guyana will achieve its full potential of national development and prosperity only when all the races of this fair land join hands, and putting Guyana first, work together in peace and harmony with mutual respect.
Government forced to go it alone
