MAGISTRATE Omeyena Hamilton yesterday refused bail to Christopher Sandy, who faced four carnal knowledge charges.
The remanded prisoner, 20, of Mount Sinai, Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, in Berbice. appeared before the magistrate in the same town. It is alleged that he had forced sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl between January 1 and April 25, this year, in his home.
Police Inspector Satrohan Dayaram, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail for the accused, expressing fear that he may tamper with the victim.
The case will be called, again, for report on May 24.
