MARLON Cush, 32, of Little India, Corriverton, Corentyne, Berbice, was sentenced to a total of 25 years imprisonment yesterday, for committing five armed robberies.
The custodial penalties were imposed on him following a trial, by Magistrate Krishendat Persaud, at Springlands Court , another part of Corentyne.
Police Sergeant Michael Grant, prosecuting, said, on August 30, 2008, at 22:30 h, Cush, armed with a gun and in company with others, went to the home of Salema Jamaludeen, where she lived with four other family members, at Scottsburg Housing Scheme, Corentyne and stole cash and gold jewellery valued $3.2M.
The Court ordered that the five sentences run concurrently, allowing the convict to spend only five years in jail.
