IT is amazing what PNC party hacks have to say in the letters column. I mean the lengths they go trying to lift the image of their party from out of the dumps. Recent articles, though hilarious in content, show a blatant disregard for the truth; speaking the truth and being a member of that party is like night and day, the two do not match.
So when one hears such nonsense as – who first came to Guyana Africans or Indians, or who first mooted the idea of power sharing, or whether indentureship can be compared to slavery – is simply a vain attempt by a group of individuals to try and shore up their party’s floundering image.
Everyone knows of the work done by the Jagan’s in placing before the world the two main races in Guyana. The PPP has always maintained prominently people from the major ethnic groups at its helm. In the formative years of the party saw Jagan and Burnham as the persons in charge. It was the opportunistic Burnham, who decided to go it alone, brainwashing some in the black community that they own Guyana.
The PPP/C has gone the extra mile in creating a united front in the racial composition of that party in that one sees Black, Indian and Amerindians. This is what the Guyanese electorate has for these last sixteen years voted for and will vote for come 2011.
