Hemraj Nanhu, 58, of Helena, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, on Sunday evening was struck down by a motor car after he was wheeling his bicycle across the Good Hope Public Road. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The police say a breathalyzer test was conducted on the driver of the motor car who was found to have consumed alcohol above the legal limit. He is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
