GT&T donates $500 000 to QC PTA for refurbishing of sports facility

THE Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) company Thursday handed over a cheque valued at $500 000 to the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Queen’s College (QC) to assist with the refurbishing of the school’s multi-sports tarmac.The symbolic cheque was handed over to the PTA president Neil Persram by GT&T’s Senior Marketing Manager Nadia DeAbreu at a brief and simple ceremony on the refurbished multi-sports court.
In very brief remarks, DeAbreu said it is heartening to see schools providing facilities for its students to promote sports and make their students rounded individuals.
In response, Persram thanked the telephone company for the financial assistance “We’re very appreciative for this assistance and it is good for GT&T’s image.
Meanwhile, the multi-sports court has already been completed minus the markings for the various disciplines that will be played on the area.
According to Persram, apart from the playing area, a concrete footbridge and pathway has been constructed.
