Cindy’s parents want her back home

Parents and relatives of Vidyawattie Thakurdyal, called “Cindy”, of 40 Alness Village, Corentyne, Berbice, yesterday appealed for the missing teen to return home. Her uncle, Lalta Persaud, nicknamed “Doctor”, who visited the Guyana Chronicle yesterday, said that the 14-year-old was last seen with her niece when she accompanied her to the public road to put her in a vehicle for Rose Hall, also on the Corentyne.
The concerned relative added that since her disappearance on Sunday, at about 14:00 hrs, they have since reported her missing to the police and have been searching for her.

Mr. Persaud explained that they were later told by villagers that the teenager had packed a bag containing her clothing and had hidden it. He said she retrieved the bag and vanished.
It is believed that she has gone into hiding with another teenager from the same village, since he too is missing from home.
The 16-year-old also left his home on Sunday.
Relatives are asking members of the public to contact them on telephone numbers 331-0253, 627-2175, 639-73713, or call the nearest police station if they know the whereabouts of the teenagers.
