A 42-year-old CID officer attached to the Anna Regina Police Station on the Essequibo Coast has committed suicide.According to reports, the officer, Leono Partick, called Neville, drank a quantity of gramoxone poison around midday Tuesday and was rushed to the Suddie Hospital where he died during the night.

Reports said the detective, who grew up at Dredge Creek, Pomeroon, lived at the Anna Regina New Housing scheme. He has left to mourn his wife, four children, his parents and other relatives.
The tragic death of the detective has left villagers and family members in shock and grief.
Reports said family members are baffled as to why the detective ended his life. It is believed that he had personal problems.
