The autopsy on Quineza Benn, 26, of Charity, Essequibo Coast, will be performed today and then the corpse will be handed over to relatives for burial.Commander of ‘G’ Division, Kevin Adonis, yesterday told this publication that when they are in receipt of the findings of the post-mortem they will know how to proceed with charges as it relates to the suspect in custody, who is the reputed husband.
It was reported that the reputed husband told sleuths that he and Benn had a row over infidelity and he assaulted but did not kill her.
The man admitted that he had rained several blows to her body during the heated argument after accusing her of having another man.
The mutilated body of the mother of two, a domestic worker, was found in a clump of bushes at Forbes Street, Charity. The discovery was made at about 06:15 hrs on March 17, 2015.
It was reported that Benn’s reputed husband was in the habit of physically assaulting her whenever there was a quarrel.
The body bore several marks of violence, including cuts to her mouth.
