… Saeed Ali captures juniors
TAFFIN Khan continued his excellent form after capturing the Jumbo Jet Rapid Chess Tournament held over the weekend.
Khan played undefeated securing five wins with two draws coming against his father David Khan and Jason Allicock. David Khan took the second podium position, while the third position went to Irshad Mohamed.  The final points standing: Taffin Khan six points, David Khan and Irshad Mohamed five points apiece, Dennis Dillon four and a half, Jason Allicock, Ryan Singh and Rawle Borrow on four points, Errol Tiwari and Ronald Roberts three and a half, Alex Joseph three points, Leanardo Butcher and Joseph Lall on two and a half points, while the lone female Amrita Singh finished on one and a half points.
Saeed Ali also continued his excellent form with five wins and one draw to secure the top podium position.  Raan Motilall took the second position, while Rashad Hussain took the third position.
The final points standing reads: Saeed Ali on five and a half points, Raan Motilall four and a half, Rashad Hussain and Kana Khan on four apiece. Miranda Ramnarine, Ashwant Satamand and Ron Motilall all on three apiece, Sham Khan and Suhai Feng two and a half, Mandy Ramnarine and Devendra Singh on two points apiece.
The tournament was organised by the Guyana Chess Federation and was sponsored by Jumbo Jet Auto Sales.
