The Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Women’s Forum (GWF) extended International Women’s Day greetings to all working and non-working women, yesterday. The organisation called on men to reflect and renew their love and respect for the women close to them including female co-workers.

The GWF said that International Women’s Day provides the opportunity to strengthen solidarity among working people especially women for development and equality.

The organisation noted that it was a day to encourage comrades to recognize that securing full enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms requires the active participation of women and is an occasion to review progress in women’s development as well as an opportunity to unite, network and mobilize for meaningful change.
