Dharmic Sabha to host countrywide Holi celebrations

Holi will be celebrated throughout the country on Monday, March 1, 2010 and the Guyana Hindu Dharma Sabha has initiated countrywide Holi celebrations. The intention is to bring celebrants to a central point. In Georgetown Holi Utsav takes place at the Dharmic Sanskritik Kendra, 392/393   Ganges Street, and Prashad Nagar between 15:00 hours and 19:00 hours.

Holika Dahan – the burning of the Holika will precede the celebrations and takes place on Sunday evening at the Camptown ground, Campbellville. Devotees will assemble at the Shri Krisha Mandir at 19:00 hours for Hawan. The Dharma Rama Krishna Chowtaal Gole led by Parbu Dyal Sattan will lead the procession to the Camptown Ground.

Special Satsangh will be held on Phagwah morning; Monday 1st March at the Dharmic Rama Krishna Mandir at 08:30 hours Pandit Daman Persaud will conduct the ceremony.

Today the Dharmic Sabha Chowtaal Samelan will be at the Annandale Mandir at 06:00 hours. Pandit Inderpal Tiwari will declare the evening’s proceeds open and Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud will deliver the message. The Rama Krishna Chowtal Gole would be there along with top singers – Mohan Nandu, Sookrani Boodhoo, Ramkissoon Singh, Rekha Singh, Suchritra Rampersud and Krishna Mandata who will entertain the gathering.
