COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF of the Armed Forces, President Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday commissioned 10 officers of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) who graduated from Standard Officers’ Course Number 42.
The ceremony took place in the Credentials Room, at Office of the President, Shiv Chanderpaul Drive, Georgetown.
The group included Captain Esan Reid and Sub-Lieutenant Nigel Baker, who were overseas studying and could not receive their instruments of commission previously.
But the other recipients yesterday were Second Lieutenants Nigel Castor, Alister Burke, Pete Da Silva, Madainey Humphrey, Texine Daw, Lloyden Layne, Trevor Mc Intosh and Kareem Graham.
The vote of thanks was moved by Daw, the woman soldier among them, who expressed their appreciation.
