Two women are in police custody following a drug bust yesterday at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CIJA). Police reported that at about 10:15 hours officers of the Police Narcotics Branch arrested a female British national who was an outgoing passenger at the CJIA after 1kg. 26 grams of cocaine was found concealed in a wig she was wearing at the time.
Subsequently, information received led to the arrest of another female British national who was on the same flight with 1kg. of cocaine also concealed in a wig.
They are in police custody and charges will be made shortly.
