Former champion bodybuilder fined for assault

NATIONAL bodybuilder Clint Duke was, on Tuesday, fined $10,000, by Magistrate Ann McLennan, at Christianburg Court, for a January 25, 2010 assault.
The former Mr. Guyana, in that sport, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on Selwyn Sampson, at a farm on Blueberry Hill, also in Linden.

Sampson said Duke slapped him thrice, causing his face to swell, after he spoke to him on behalf of the farm’s owner.
After Duke admitted slapping the virtual complainant following an argument, Magistrate McLennan informed the defendant that the penalty for such a crime could be 18 months imprisonment.
But the Court decided to fine him with the alternative of four weeks imprisonment. (Joe Chapman)
