POLICE have arrested a man in connection with the armed robbery at Agricola, Greater Georgetown, on Tuesday.
Police said a businessman, whose name was withheld, reported that, about 14:15 h, he was on Agricola Public Road, awaiting transport, when he was held at gunpoint by two men.
The robbers took away his personal jewellery worth $180,000, a cell phone and $47,000 cash and escaped but, shortly after, the victim saw them crossing the roadway into Agricola.
Following the report, Police responded quickly and ranks on a mobile patrol went into Agricola, where they arrested a man in a house and he was positively identified by the victim, as one of the perpetrators.
Police said the suspect is in custody and will be charged.
