GRA Officers to receive E-Learning Training

Several officers of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), including trainers and supervisors, are participating in an E-Learning training programme conducted by a consultant from the Caribbean Customs Law Enforcement Council (CCLEC). The training will take place today and tomorrow at the Training Room, Main Street Georgetown.
The modules to be covered include Customs Controls, Valuation, Harmonized System, Integrity and Post Clearance Audit.
Prior to the close of the Guyana Threshold Project, a training committee was set up to ensure sustainability of a three-year training plan which was rolled out last year.
Commissioner-General Mr. Khurshid Sattaur noted that training is a critical area for the GRA that will continue under his stewardship, particularly in meeting the needs of the new organisation for skilled staff.
The mission of CCLEC is to upgrade the effectiveness and efficiency of its member customs administration in pursuing their mandate through cooperation, sharing of best practice and human resource development.
