THE police are investigating the death of Sooknandan Ramdial, 52, of Bath Settlement, WCB, which occurred at about 15:25h yesterday at Goedverwagting, ECD. According to a police release, investigations revealed that Ramdial, who was employed with a private construction company that is constructing a road at Goedverwagting, was operating a roller machine which reportedly toppled into a trench, pinning him below.
Ramdial’s body is at the Lyken Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem.
Meanwhile , post mortems were performed by Dr. Nehaul Singh yesterday on the bodies of deceased inmates of the Georgetown Prisons, Dyal Singh and Solomon Blackman.
The cause of Singh’s death was given as cerebral haemorrhage resulting from multiple blunt cranial trauma, while that of Blackman was given as multiple injuries caused by sharp and blunt force to the body.
Singh and Blackman, who were both on remand at the Camp Street jail, were killed during an incident Friday last, at the Georgetown Prison.
Both the police and the prison administration are continuing their investigations into the incident.
