“He always deh drinking high wine and smoking and every time he want money from me. Me had to come out de house cause he does want hit and cuss me up” the man said.
Lall said after both of his nephew’s parents died, he took him in to live in the downstairs of the house. He said he will have no mercy on his nephew since he has now made him homeless and he will have to make do with whatever little he has. He said for the time being, he will ask his employer to give him the night shift and he will spend the day at his daughter’s home.
He said the West Ruimveldt Fire Service responded promptly, but because the building was old, the fire quickly destroyed it.
Neighbours thanked the firefighters for quickly putting the blaze out and for preventing it from spreading to a nearby church and other houses
Persaud was arrested and is at the Providence Police Station.
