POLICE conducted a stop-and-search exercise on two men in Region Six at Corriverton, Corentyne, Berbice on Sunday, and seized an unlicensed .22 Browning pistol. 

The men are in police custody as investigations continue into this matter.

That same day, the police searched a mining camp at Chinese Landing in the Barama River area of Region One, and unearthed an unlicensed 12-gauge shotgun and three cartridges.

Four men have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with that investigation.
