LIKE all other nations of the world, the people of Russia express profound condolences and sincerest sympathies to the people of Haiti, families and relatives of victims of this catastrophic natural disaster.

Following the instructions made by Mr. D.A. Medvedev, President of Russia, necessary relief assistance to the people of Haiti was provided. Four cargo airplanes with a mobile hospital on board and humanitarian aid, including food and medicines, were sent to Haiti on January 13.

Russian rescue groups and doctors uninterruptedly work in the country. The Government of the Russian Federation joins the Group-20 reaffirming readiness and commitment to send immediate economic and in kind assistance to attend to the basic human needs of the Haitian population at this time of hardship and will follow closely the relief and reconstruction process in Haiti.
