APNU/AFC plan going to the same electorate they earlier described as ‘collateral damage’

OLD Kai believes in Karma, and, sure as night turns to day, it appears that the nation could possibly head to early elections, and the Opposition will be going to the very people they had described as ‘collateral damage’ during their 2012 budget cuts.

How they will explain their way out of acknowledging and justifying hardships brought on to Guyanese by their actions is anyone’s guess. This is obviously a nightmare scenario for the Opposition, which is why I am convinced that both the AFC’s no-confidence motion against the PPP/C government and the PNC/R-APNU’s decision to support it is simply a carefully orchestrated ruse to create discussion so as to distract from the current implosion of their respective political movements.
Mr. Granger should know that we will not be distracted, and are patiently awaiting the several investigative reports he had promised post- Congress, including the one where his driver is accused of abusing a PNC/R female member. It is close to two weeks since Mr. Granger promised to launch an investigation and provide the details to the media.
How difficult is it for this security expert to talk to his driver and the victim and prepare a report? That could have been completed in less than a day, yet we are still waiting to hear exactly what transpired, which led to the abuse, bearing in mind this is not the first such occasion one of Granger’s driver/bodyguards has been accused of attempting to assault and or intimidate individuals.
Similarly, we are awaiting the Party’s report on the Congress Place shooter, as they had stated that no one was allowed in with a firearm. They need to explain how the shooter managed to breach security and who assisted him in walking in with a firearm when he was not in possession of a firearm licence.
If the PNC/R cannot protect their own membership from such threats, and their failure thus far to be accountable for the incident, how then can they profess to be capable of protecting an entire nation?
They need to tell us why they have not allowed challengers to the leadership to scrutinise the entire voting process at the Congress, and even now let them have a look at the list and assess the process, if they are so confident that the elections were not rigged in favour of Mr. Granger and his team.
Old Kai wishes to inform the Opposition that this no-confidence talk will not distract from their glaring inconsistencies and outright refusal to be held accountable for their actions against not only their own supporters but all Guyanese.
