CANADA’S Royston Crandon emerged as the leading individual award winner at the 2026 IMC Over-40s Cricket World Cup in Guyana, taking the highest run scorer and Most Valuable Player honours as the tournament concluded on Saturday last
Pakistan’s Waseem Ali finished as the highest wicket taker, while West Indies’ Randy Thomas was named Best Wicketkeeper.
The individual honours accompanied the close of two weeks of cricket across Guyana’s three counties. The International Masters Cricket Association tournament ended with a closing ceremony at the Police Officers Mess, Eve Leary, on Saturday night.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr. and Minister within the Ministry, Steven Jacobs, were in attendance and delivered remarks.

Thomas also played a central role in West Indies’ final match, scoring a century to help secure a 45-run victory over India in the fifth-place Shield final at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda, on October 31.
His innings laid the foundation for 309 for six. India began the demanding chase promisingly, but were bowled out for 264 in 44.4 overs, leaving West Indies with the Shield title.
The main championship went to Pakistan, who recovered from 36 for four to edge Australia by one wicket with one ball to spare at the National Stadium, Providence.
Adnan Akmal’s 83 and Jawad Mansoor’s 62 revived Pakistan’s pursuit of 282 before Syed Fariduddin’s unbeaten 24 from 16 balls helped carry them to 282 for nine in 44.5 overs.
Fariduddin completed a strong all-round performance, having earlier claimed four for 40 as Australia made 281 for six from their 45 overs.
Greg Hunt scored 103 and captain Steve Paulsen added 70 for Australia, but their efforts were ultimately overtaken in a tense finish that delivered the World Cup title to Pakistan.
