AIR Services Limited (ASL) has clarified media reports published on March 26, 2026, that raised concerns about its interactions with the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
The reports, according to a press release, centred on flight restrictions imposed after an incident in Region One.
In its statement, ASL said those concerns have since been fully addressed. Following a series of constructive technical reviews and engagements between the company and the regulator, the matter was formally brought to a close and, in the company’s words, laid to rest.
ASL used the clarification to underscore its record in the sector. With more than six decades of service, the company describes itself as steadfast in maintaining standard operational compliance while contributing directly to national growth.
The company also expressed full confidence in the Minister of Public Utilities and Aviation, Deodat Indar.
ASL credited his proactive, hands-on approach to industry development with providing valuable direction at a time when domestic operators are working to expand fleet capacity, improve hinterland connectivity and support Guyana’s rapidly growing economy.
ASL reaffirmed that it submits itself to the regulatory oversight mandates of the GCAA. The company noted that the rules and regulations carry the safety assurance needed to protect the travelling public it serves.
The operator also stressed that the relationship must work in both directions. According to ASL, mutual respect on both sides is necessary for the effective growth and development of what it called a dynamic sector. ASL signalled its intention to continue working within the sector’s framework.
