MINISTER of Local Government and Regional Development, Priya Manickchand, has revealed yet another addition to the efforts by her ministry to ensure safe, clean spaces for all citizens.
This new addition features modern public-washroom facilities, which will be installed in various areas across the country, thereby reducing the need for persons to relieve themselves in public spaces.

“These are going up around the country. You may see two units or four units depending on where they are in public spaces for usage by the public…public conveniences so that people don’t have to relieve themselves on the street,” Minister Manickchand said.
The minister said that these facilities can be used by the general public instead and she is “glad” they are able to introduce this initiative.
“You’re going to see this going up across different parts of the country, either in fours or in twos,” she said.
“Please use with care and drop us a note if you think there is a place that needs it,” she urged.
