A RESIDENT of Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, Aubrey Osmund Roberts, affectionately known as “Uncle Aubrey” or “Labba,” has celebrated a remarkable milestone, reaching his 100th birthday.
The centenarian, a familiar face in his community, has spent much of his life working hard, raising 17 children and creating cherished memories with his family and loved ones.

To commemorate the special occasion, representatives of the Difficult Circumstances Unit (DCU) of the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security visited Roberts and presented him with a care package on behalf of subject minister, Dr Vindhya Persaud.
In a Facebook post, the ministry celebrated the centenarian’s life and his contributions to his family and community.
Minister Persaud also extended warm birthday wishes to Roberts, wishing him continued happiness, love and many more cherished moments surrounded by his family.
The visit formed part of the ministry’s efforts to recognise and celebrate senior citizens, particularly those who have reached significant milestones.
