Forest Products Association welcomes launch of Guyana Development Bank

THE Executive Committee and members of the Forest Products Association of Guyana have extended congratulations to President Dr Irfaan Ali and the Government of Guyana on the official launch of the Guyana Development Bank.
The association, in a press release, at a pivotal moment when the financial sustainability of key industries—most notably Guyana’s forestry sector—is at a critical juncture, the establishment of the Guyana Development Bank represents a vital step forward for sustainable economic growth and financial empowerment.
“It directly addresses an urgent need by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and driving key strategic investments across the country.
“Additionally, we extend our sincere congratulations to the newly appointed Board of Directors, with special recognition to Ms. Kathy Smith, Vice Chairman of the Private Sector Commission. We are fully confident that under their distinguished leadership, the bank will serve as a powerful catalyst for innovation, progress, and opportunity for years to come,” the association said.
The association noted the President’s vision, leadership, and dedication in bringing this landmark institution to fruition are truly commendable.
