A 58-year-old security guard has been charged with attempting to murder a 59-year-old woman following an incident at Hampton Court, Essequibo Coast.

Munesh Ramnarine of Hampton Court was charged under Section 103(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.

The charge stems from an incident on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Hampton Court involving the woman.

Ramnarine was arrested and charged on Friday, October 2, before appearing at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on the same day.

He appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir, where the indictable charge was read to him.

Ramnarine was not required to enter a plea and was remanded to prison.

The matter was adjourned to November 17, 2026.
