POLICE in Regional Division #8 are investigating an aircraft incident which occurred on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Mahdia Airstrip, Region Eight.

According to a police press release, preliminary enquiries revealed that the aircraft, which had five passengers and the pilot on board, had landed at the Mahdia Airstrip when it reportedly veered off the runway and came to a halt on the eastern side of the airstrip.

No injuries were reported among the pilot or passengers. No cargo was reported lost or damaged, while the aircraft reportedly sustained minor damage to its wheels, the police said.

Police ranks visited the scene and obtained statements from relevant persons.

Further enquiries are ongoing.
