POLICE are investigating an armed robbery in which a security officer was allegedly held at gunpoint and robbed of his firearm and ammunition while on duty at a bar on North Road, Georgetown.
The incident occurred at approximately 20:30hrs on Friday, September 25, 2026.
According to the police, the 40-year-old security officer, who resides at East La Penitence, was on duty at the bar when he was approached by a man known to him.
The suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at the security officer and demanded that he hand over his firearm.
The security officer complied and surrendered a 9mm pistol, along with 10 matching rounds of ammunition.
Police said the suspect then fled the scene on foot, heading south along Wellington Street.
No arrests have been made as investigations continue.
