THE name Gore returned to the front of the pack this weekend but this time, it was Tommi, son of Legendary Jamacian driver Doug, who will start on pole for today’s group four race of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) National Championships round one.

Gore, in the J’s Supermarket KTM XBOW yesterday clocked a time of 1:15.609, followed by Rameez Mohamed in 1:18.989 and Andrew King in 1:21.071 across the 2.632-kilometre circuit

In the Street Class Bikes, Jerry DaSilva set the fastest time with a 1:20.239, followed by Salim Azeez at 1:20.356 and Denzel Hopkinson at 1:22.984. Christopher Bridgmohan was fourth in 1:25.895, while Nathan Patterson recorded 1:35.766.

Matthew Vieira topped the Superbikes 600cc class with a 1:17.616. Elan Rahaman was second in 1:20.560, with Junior DaSilva third in 1:23.000.

In the Superbikes Open class, Kevin Persaud secured pole with a 1:16.345, ahead of Alain Hopkinson in 1:18.890 and Adrian Mohar in 1:20.514.

Group 3 qualifying saw Anand Ramchand set the pace with a 1:24.747; Anthony Evelyn was second in 1:26.662, while Neil Persaud posted 1:29.118.

Nasrudeen Mohamed topped Local Group 2 with a 1:25.250. Mohamed Shairaz Roshandin was second in 1:26.858, followed by Neil Persaud in 1:27.147, Damian Singh in 1:27.934 and Ryan Rahaman in 1:29.529.

In the Rookie and Female classes, Malicia Lawrence was the sole qualifier in the Female Class, recording 1:35.068.

Joshua Ramdehol led Rookie A Class with a 1:29.600. In Rookie B, Nicholas Sawh was fastest in 1:30.102, ahead of Allan Roberts in 1:43.855, Kunal Persaud in 1:50.200 and Devesh Singh in 2:00.520.

The Vitz Cup A Class was led by Ravin Ramoutar with a 1:32.723. Mikhail Persaud was second in 1:33.140, Zachary Persaud third in 1:34.123 and Mickelly Rahaman fourth in 1:36.639.

Devesh Singh topped Vitz Cup B in 1:35.291, followed by Ryan Ramoutar in 1:36.521 and Shivan Ragnauth in 1:38.313.

In Street Tuner 1500cc, Ryan Rahaman/Jad Rahaman recorded the fastest time of 1:28.595. Amjad Rahaman was second in 1:29.776, followed by Jad Rahaman in 1:31.865, Ravin Ramoutar in 1:32.764, Shivan Ragnauth in 1:35.343, Zachary Persaud in 1:35.559 and Ryan Ramoutar in 1:36.966.

Mohamed Saifudeen Roshandin was the leading qualifier in Sports Tuner 1600cc, posting 1:31.225, while Shan Seejatan was second in 1:36.209.

The Starlet Cup was headed by Steven Nobrega, who posted the fastest qualifying lap of 1:24.569. Anand Ramchand was second in 1:24.826, Anthony Evelyn third in 1:25.958, Afraz Allie fourth in 1:26.180 and Allan Da Silva fifth in 1:28.734.

Admission is $4,000 for adults and $2,000 for children.
