FRESH off their return from Barbados, the BM SOAT/Prem’s Electrical team is looking to continue its winning form this weekend in the opening round of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) National Championships.
The team, part of the four-car contingent that represented Guyana at the fourth round of the GT Challenge series in Barbados, picked up one second-place finish and one first-place finish in the GTS Turbo Class over the weekend.
Driver and team principal Rameez Mohamed confirmed they are looking to carry that form into this weekend’s first round of the National Championships.
“We had a good run in Barbados a few weeks ago, and the car is in a really good window, so we are obviously looking to translate that form home, here, in front of our fans,” Mohamed said.
He continued, “The challenge is that earlier today (Wednesday) we got the car back into our possession, so my team, led by wingman (Daniel Gafoor), will have to run it back through, and we will do a shakedown later this week.”
But from the way we left the car in Barbados, we aren’t expecting any major work, so fans of the BM SOAT/ Prem’s Electrical can rest assured that we will be on that grid on Sunday,” Mohamed added.
The car is expected to be a fixture in group four. Meanwhile, GMR&SC has pegged admission at $4,000 for adults and $2,000 for children.
The 2026 championship is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, One Guyana, GuyOil, Enet, KFC, Tropical Shipping and Castrol.
