POLICE are investigating the discovery of a suspected .32 pistol and six matching live rounds of ammunition, which were found on Wednesday September 16, 2026 about 23:30hrs at a wash bay on Jackson Street, Tucville, Georgetown.

Preliminary investigations revealed that ranks, acting on information received, proceeded to the location where they contacted a 25-year-old self-employed man of Tucville, Georgetown, the police said in a statement.

It added that ranks conducted a search of the structure at the wash bay in the presence of the 25-year-old, during which a suspected .32 pistol, along with a magazine containing six matching live rounds of ammunition, was found in the drawer of a table.

The 25-year-old, who is not the holder of a firearm licence, was arrested and escorted along with the suspected firearm and ammunition to the East La Penitence Police Station, where the firearm and ammunition were lodged, the statement said adding that the suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
