CHET Bowling emerged victorious at the Lusignan Golf Club’s National Top Flight Golf League (NTFGL) Tour #3 on Sunday, September 13, after a competitive day of golf that attracted 37 players to the club’s challenging course.
Following the successful staging of Tour #2, the league continued its competitive run with the third leg of the tour, bringing together golfers for another exciting day of competition.
Bowling secured the title with a net score of 69, edging Videsh Persaud, who also finished with a net 69, on the countback. Both players returned gross scores of 90 and played off a handicap of 21, making for a closely contested battle at the top of the leaderboard.
Mike Mangal finished third with a gross score of 83, a handicap of 13 and a net score of 70, just one stroke behind the leading pair. Despite producing the lowest gross score among the top three finishers, Mangal narrowly missed out on the title as Bowling prevailed on the countback.
The tournament tested the players’ accuracy, consistency and course management, with Lusignan’s well-maintained fairways and carefully prepared greens providing a fitting setting for the third leg of the tour.
Bowling’s victory reflected his ability to remain competitive throughout the round and deliver a net score that stood up against a strong field. With Persaud matching his final score and Mangal close behind, the contest remained tight among the leading players.
The day also featured individual honours, with Pantanjilee Persaud claiming the Longest Drive prize, while Mohanlall Dinanauth secured the Nearest to the Pin award and a Best Gross of 81.
The NTFGL tour continues to provide a platform for golfers of varying handicaps to test their abilities, enjoy the game and compete for honours. With Tour #3 now completed, the league’s competitive action continues following another successful outing at Lusignan.
Bowling’s triumph capped an exciting day at the club, with the narrow margin separating the top finishers underscoring the importance of consistency and precision in a closely fought competition.
