MINISTER of Local Government and Regional Development, Priya Manickchand, alongside Permanent Secretary Miguel Choo-Kang met with the Regional Executive Officer (REO) of Region Five, Mary Samaroo, to discuss areas of consideration in the development of the regional budget and priorities ahead of the new year.
During the engagement, Minister Manickchand urged the REO to look at her region with new eyes and to think critically about what can be changed, improved and introduced to make a meaningful difference in communities. She was urged to use the budget process as an opportunity to think boldly about the needs of residents and identify investments that can transform communities and improve the everyday lives of the people they serve.
Tuesday’s meeting served as the first of a series of engagements Minister Manickchand will hold with REOs across all ten administrative regions.
