HEADQUARTERS are still the “kings” of the Guyana Police Force Commissioner of Police (CoP) T20 Cup tournament after completing a ruthless nine-wicket victory over upstarts Tactical Services Unit (TSU) when the 2026 tournament climaxed at the Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary, on Friday.
Set a paltry 125 for victory, after limiting their opponents to 124 for six in their allotted 20 overs, the four-time reigning champions rushed to 126 for one in a mere 9.4 overs to claim their fifth unprecedented consecutive title.
The victory charge was led by opener Pernell London, who blasted four fours and three sixes in a fine unbeaten 56, adding 85 in 7.2 overs with fellow opener Andrew Lyght Jnr, who spanked four fours in his 30 and an unbeaten 41 off 14 balls for the second wicket with Dwain Dick who was unbeaten on 30 from 23 balls, which included four fours, when victory was achieved. The lone wicket-taker was Andre Baker who claimed one for 45 from 2.4 overs.

Earlier, the TSU, who promised much in the preliminary rounds, found the going tough against their more experienced counterparts and were never let off the hook. Opener Eon Rodrigues led from the front with an efficient 35 off 25 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes in the process, while Alex Burnett supported with 20.
The wickets were shared by Kanhaiya Ramkarran who grabbed two for 19 from his four overs, while there was one each from Kapildeo Charandeen, Hazel Williams and Ewan Blair.
London was named the final’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Best Batsman, while Ramkaran earned the Best Bowler award.
National wicket-keeper Kemol Savory, who represented Region 10, topped the tournament’s run-scoring charts with 260 runs, including back-to-back centuries. He has since left to join St Lucia Kings for the remainder of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) tournament.
In the race for the third place, the GPF Academy won from Region Six in a low-scoring affair. Set 103 for victory, after Region Six were shot out for 102 in 17.4 overs, the GPF Academy huffed and puffed their way to 105 for seven in 17.5 overs.
At one stage, the GPF Academy were 76 for seven in the 14th over before Man-of-the-match, Shane Prince, who hit an undefeated 28 (three fours), joined forces with Osafa Matherson (three not out) to add an unbeaten 29 for the eighth wicket, ensuring no further alarms.

Opener Vishaul Williams had earlier score 41 off 35 balls which was spiced with five fours.
