MINISTER of Education, Sonia Parag, accompanied by Minister of Public Utilities and Aviation, Deodat Indar, on Friday, visited the construction site of the new St Stanislaus College building to ensure that contractors are working around the clock to complete the project.

Once completed, the modern facility will house an Information Technology (IT) room, an Industrial Technology room, an allied arts space, and a food and nutrition laboratory, adding to the range of technical and vocational subjects available to students at the historic Brickdam institution.

The building is one of two under construction at St Stanislaus College under the “Guyana Strengthening Human Capital Through Education” project, a World Bank-funded initiative that broke ground in March 2025.

The expansion forms part of a wider government push to modernise secondary school infrastructure in Georgetown and across Guyana, with several other schools also undergoing upgrades or reconstruction in recent years.
