FLOYD Wade, 22, a mason of Beterverwagting Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara, was, on Thursday, sentenced to 18 months in prison after admitting to armed robbery.

He was charged with Robbery Under Arms, contrary to Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, police said in a press release.

Wade was arrested on September 1, 2026, in relation to the mentioned offence, police said, adding that he appeared at the Wales Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate R. Weever on Thursday.

After the charge was read to him, he pleaded guilty and was subsequently sentenced to eighteen (18) months in prison, the police said.
