– Ministers to ‘fan out’ across communities to hear residents’ concerns

PRESIDENT Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali will today lead a two-day Cabinet outreach in Region 10, with residents of Coomacka and surrounding communities set to engage the Head of State and senior Government officials directly.
The outreach is expected to begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Coomacka Community Centre Ground, where President Ali, joined by members of Cabinet, will meet with residents to hear their concerns, experiences and priorities.
As part of the two-day exercise, Cabinet ministers and senior government officials will also be ‘fanned out’ across communities throughout Region 10, allowing for direct engagement with residents and on-the-ground assessments of local needs.

Preparations for the cabinet outreach

The outreach is intended to provide residents with an opportunity to raise issues affecting their communities while allowing Government to provide updates on ongoing and planned initiatives targeting infrastructure, public services, livelihoods and economic opportunities.
The engagements will also give ministers and senior officials an opportunity to assess the progress of projects and programmes being implemented across the region and identify areas requiring further attention.
For residents of Coomacka, the visit comes against the backdrop of increased Government attention to road infrastructure, connectivity, community development and opportunities for hinterland communities.
Government has been encouraging residents to participate in the outreach and use the opportunity to make their voices heard and engage directly with policymakers.
The two-day Cabinet outreach forms part of the Administration’s continued efforts to take Government services and decision-making closer to communities across Guyana.
