CAC bodybuilding championship… Jeffrey struts his way to gold as Guyana finishes with five medals

JONATHAN Jeffrey captured a lone gold medal as Guyana’s team at the just-
concluded Central America and Caribbean (CAC) bodybuilding competition
finished with five medals, which include three silvers and a bronze in Guatemala.’
Jeffrey was the major winner in the Men’s Physique category, collecting a gold medal.
Guyana’s Rawle Greene, who collected a silver medal in the Masters and classic
bodybuilding, added a third silver medal on Sunday in the bodybuilding class.
Sabita Stephenson also took a bronze on day one in the bikini category.
Melitha Anderson took home fourth place in the Bikini Wellness category.
The bodybuilding team is joined by Videsh Sookram acting as GBBFF President,
Nathan Wilburg as Treasurer, and Fizal Baccus as coach.
Guyana’s bodybuilding team’s journey to Guatemala for the CAC Championship is
supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Fitness Express, and Zoon
Logistics.
Videsh Sookram, acting GBBFF head, says that he is heartened by what the small
tIeam was able to achieve, and it was a proud moment for the federation.
‘It is an achievement in another land, Jonathan Jeffrey was the one that
made it happen this year, I think he deserved it and it was nice to see
everybody standing at attention to listen to our anthem and to respect our
country’s anthem and the flag in the background ‘
He said the sport continues on the upward trajectory.
‘He Guyana bodybuilding and fitness federation is very satisfied and happy
with the athletes’ performances.
