POLICE are investigating an alleged threatening behaviour incident on Robb Street, Georgetown, involving two businessmen, one of whom was arrested after a firearm was reportedly displayed during a confrontation.
The incident occurred at about 10:25 hrs on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, and involved a 29-year-old businessman of Grove, East Bank Demerara, and a 60-year-old businessman of Bel Air, Georgetown.
According to preliminary police investigations, an incident developed between the two men during which a firearm was allegedly displayed and a threat reportedly made.
The matter was subsequently reported to the police, who arrested the 60-year-old businessman.
A licensed .32 Taurus pistol was also lodged as part of the investigation.
The businessman was later released on cash bail.
Police said investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
