THE Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has appointed Martin Massiah as Head of eSports, reinforcing the federation’s commitment to digital football, youth empowerment and innovation.
Massiah, who also serves as Director of Marketing and Commercial Strategy, played a leading role in laying the foundation for the GFF eSports division alongside Daniel Idal in 2025, following approval from GFF President Wayne Forde and the federation’s leadership.
Since its launch, the programme has staged several domestic competitions, certified two FIFAe referees and expanded to include eFootball™ Mobile, eFootball™ Console and Rocket League™.
During this period, Guyana recorded significant progress internationally. The national eFootball™ Mobile team reached a historic high of 14th in the FIFAe World Rankings in May 2026 and is currently ranked 18th globally.
Led by Christian Harris and Jeremiya Johnson, Guyana’s national squad, which also included Jaekwon Chase, Ricardo Sukra and Ronalhdo Sobers, secured the country’s historic qualification for the FIFAe Continental Championship North, Central America, and Caribbean by Concacaf in Mexico City, Mexico, from August 28 toAugust 30, 2026, marking another major step in Guyana’s emergence on the international eSports stage.
Massiah has led the coordination of domestic competitions and international participation while helping establish the governance, verification and operational systems required for Guyana to compete effectively within the FIFAe ecosystem.

“We are pioneering a new frontier for Guyana, one where technology, football and national pride come together to unlock the potential of our young people. Our ambition is to build something innovative, world-class and unmistakably Guyanese, proving that our youth can lead, compete and inspire on the global stage.”
The appointment forms part of the GFF’s wider strategy to expand participation, create new pathways for young people and strengthen Guyana’s position within the global football and FIFAe ecosystem. (GFF Release)
