Linden Elite Basketball championship…

–double header on tonight

TOP-ranked Victory Valley Royals and Amelia’s Ward Jets registered wins as the five team Elite Basketball League tournament got underway in Linden on Wednesday evening.

The tournament is being promoted by Kevon Scott and Kevin Joseph and opening night was played at the Retrieve Hard Court.

After a late start, Jets overcame a spirited effort by the Block 22 Flames, dousing them 58-55 while Royals romped past home side Retriever Raiders with a commanding 75-55 victory.

Tonight, the action switches to the Amelia’s Ward Hard Court where from 19:00hrs, Jets playing at home will clash with Retrieve Raiders.

The second match will see Vikings, the new kids on the block, challenging Block 22 Flames.

On Sunday two more games will be played with Flames facing Royals in the first game, and the second bringing together Vikings and Jets.
