I FIND German citizen, Andre Brandli that makes a claim to being Guyanese, a repugnant man. I find Bertrand Ramcharran, a Canadian that was born in Guyana, a dangerously idiotic man. Brandli wasn’t born here and never lived in Guyana. Ramcharran left Guyana more than 50 years ago.
The morally questionable characteristic of both men is that they live in troubled countries like Canada and Germany, but they write about democracy, governance, elections, and justice in Guyana but never pen even a paragraph on the lack of these things in their own country.
There are more details to publish about Ramcharran so let’s start with Brandli. He lives and works in one of the most frightening countries Europe produced – Germany. This is a country that almost destroyed the world on two occasions through two world wars and wants to start another one with Russia as an excuse. What is there to admire about this country that has a genetic obsession with genocide?
It created genocide in Namibia and in Germany itself and refuses to accept that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza. How can it admit that when it has a genetic fascination with genocide? This is a country that declared that Israel is the reason for the state of Germany. When you think of the fascist nature of Israel and Israel being one of the most bestial nations that history has seen, for Germany to say its existence is predicated on Israel’s existence makes Germany an obnoxious land.
Brandli writes often in condemnatory mode about Guyana but never penned a paragraph informing Guyanese about Germany’s dangerous ontology. Brandli is the only person in the entire world that asserted that over 600,000 persons voted in the 2020 election in Guyana.
The official number that the PPP, PNC, AFC and others did not query is 460,353. The unaccounted votes must have been taken to Germany by Brandli, who acrobatically was not in Guyana in 2020.
Now Ramcharran. I would never forgive Ramcharran for a column he did for Stabroek News praising a former head of Mossad as being a philosophical and humanistic person. Any person who can head Mossad is a civilisational misfit that has no right to be part of civilisation. That man that once headed Mossad has probably killed hundreds of humans.
Ramcharran is a sad, pathetic soul who engages in a process against Guyana that foreign readers of this newspaper would not be familiar with – eye pass. Ramcharran has been engaged in “eye pass” for a long time now and each time he manifests it, he is going to hear from this columnist.
Last week, Ramcharran suggested that Guyana implement an Advisory Panel on Ethics in Governance.
He went further and suggested an American philosopher, Kwame Appiah, come to Guyana for this purpose. Here are Ramcharran’s words as to why Guyana should have this panel: “The nation is riven with divisions in the political realm and this, combined with the presidential system of government, contributes to divisions and divisiveness in the body politic.”
But why does he not write about his country, Canada? Why shouldn’t there be an ethics panel for governance in Canada? Canada has a Westminister system where the winner-takes-all system has been in place for more than a hundred years.
The Prime Minister has more constitutional power in Canada than the President of Guyana. The Chancellor of the Judiciary in Guyana and the Chief Justice could only be confirmed in Guyana if the Opposition Leader agrees.
I believe Canada is a racist country. African refugees sleep on the pavement. Ukrainian refugees are housed in five-star hotels. Guyana would never discriminate like that for incoming refugees. The source of that information is a man who worked for 30 years at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Nazim Baksh. He said so publicly on the Freddie Kissoon Show.
Canada is a sharply divided racial country. Native Indians are openly discriminated against. French speaking, Quebec came within a coat of varnish in seceding.
In Quebec, the law stipulates that government business must be done in the French language. At the moment of writing, there are plans by some group in Alberta to separate from Canada.
The arrest and trial in Canada of the daughter of the founder of one of China’s biggest companies, Wuawei, from pressure from the Americans is testimony to the kind of judiciary the Western world has.
It is “eye pass” for people like Ramcharran with his convoluted thinking to suggest that Guyana invite people to advise Guyana on governance when his own country needs to have such advice.
