GUYANESE driver Sahadeo Ramsewack has etched his name into the drag-racing record books after producing a historic sub-nine-second quarter-mile pass at TRACFEST 2026 in Trinidad and Tobago.
Behind the wheel of his Toyota Verossa, the Trans Racing Team driver clocked an astonishing 8.958 seconds at a top speed of 144.4mph, setting the fastest time ever recorded by the chassis over a quarter-mile distance.
The monumental performance represents a major breakthrough for Guyanese motorsport on the regional stage.
The record-breaking run was the result of extensive regional collaboration and technical development.
Ramsewack’s machine was prepared with technical support from Balram Auto Mechanic alongside Trinidad-based Team Allout, with performance tuning delivered by TECHPOINT.
Ramsewack—who balances his racing career as Chief Executive Officer across Trans Pacific Motor Spares and Auto Sale Inc., Ramsewack Investment, Trans Security Solutions Inc., and SHS Realty—heads up a competitive three-car Trans Racing Team campaign.
His record run leads a stable that also features Rohan campaigning an eight-second Toyota Altezza, and Prankraj Ramdeo competing in the 11-second bracket with a Toyota RunX.
Having spent the past six months competing at drag-racing events across the Caribbean, the Guyanese outfit will look to build on their momentum when they head to Grenada for their next scheduled event in September. (Modified GMR&SC Press Release)
