BERBICE is bracing for a weekend of relentless, high-octane tapeball action as the Berbice zone of the Lotto / Let’s Bet Sports One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast bowls off on Saturday, August 8. Sixteen community sides will launch straight into an uncompromising knockout bracket across four iconic grounds, all vying for local supremacy, financial rewards, and a cherished ticket to October’s national finals.
Organised by FL Sport, the tournament’s fourth season lands in the Ancient County as an ideal curtain-raiser for a bumper national sports calendar. The opening day presents a gruelling four-venue sprint where teams must win twice in six hours to survive. Action starts simultaneously at 10:00hrs across all locations with free entry for spectators.
At the No.70 Ground, No. 70 Village Spartans will kick off against Grillmaster Avengers CWC before Champ XI square off against No. 73 Young Warriors at midday, with the two winners returning at 15:00hrs (3:00 PM) for a high-stakes quarter-final. Down at Port Mourant, 35 Xplosion open against Grillmaster Sip N Play All Stars, setting the stage for Line Path Raptors’ midday clash with Corriverton Spartan and a subsequent afternoon quarter-final.
Over at the Albion Sports Complex, Ethan XI will lock horns with Royal Warriors in the morning slot before Meera Warriors meet Lusignan Bulls DTP I at noon, with the survivors battling at 15:00hrs (3:00 PM.) Meanwhile, the Welfare Ground in Canje hosts home side Welfare XI against Blairmont Blazers, preceding a clash between The Mavericks and Cotton Tree Die Hard to determine the final quarter-final winner.
The entire show shifts exclusively to the Albion Sports Complex on Sunday, August 9, when the tournament transitions into prime time under floodlights. Semi-Final one pits the winners of the No. 69 and Port Mourant brackets against each other at 14:00hrs (2:00 PM,), followed by semi-Final 2 at (16:00hrs) 4:00 PM featuring the survivors from Albion and Welfare. The last two teams standing will collide in the Berbice zonal final at 19:30hrs (7:30 PM) to crown the regional champion.
There is significant money on the line to match the drama. Backed by primary zonal sponsor SAWA alongside the Guyana Cup and Scoop, the tournament guarantees financial rewards for deep runs. Losing quarter-finalists will pocket G$25,000, losing semi-finalists take G$50,000, and the defeated zonal finalist earns G$200,000.
The Berbice zone champion will walk away with a G$500,000 cheque and passage to the national stage.
Beyond the Boundary, title sponsors Guyana Lottery Company—through their Lotto and Let’s Bet Sports brands—will feature interactive promotional giveaways and fan activations throughout the weekend, alongside a special raffle offering entry to the upcoming Guyana Cup horse-racing showcase.
The ultimate target for all 16 Berbice teams is the national grand finale on October 11, 2026, which features a G$2,000,000 top prize and will be staged at the newly constructed Anna Regina National Stadium in Essequibo for the first time.
Following this weekend’s Berbice opener, the tournament travels to East Bank/West Demerara on August 15–16 and Essequibo on August 22–23, before pausing for the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League and resuming in Georgetown/East Coast Demerara across late September and early October
